  Also, you will not find whiter sand beaches in the world nor more pristine emerald green waters anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico --- that is from Texas to the Florida Keys. Destin is known as " The World's Luckiest Fishing Village and hosts several annual fishing tournaments  to include the month-long Destin Fishing Rodeo in October. The close proximity of deep water is one of the reasons fishing is so good - with 100-foot depths within 10 miles. Over 20 species of edible fish are available in seasonal runs as can be noted on my Fish Calendar.
